Last summer Dick Morris was asked by Hannity on his show how he would advise Bush-Rove as the economic problems and Enron type scandals were picking up steam in the press. Morris replied "spill Iraqi blood, as soon as possible before the election". Maybe a coincidence, but two weeks later Bush announced our urgent need for immediate war with Iraq. Sure enough, the media took the bait and quickly the economic scandals left the front pages, then the newspapers altogether, giving Bush the ONLY issue during the November elections, and the "ability" to call anyone who criticized him "unpatriotic". It was crass, dishonest, grossly immoral and brilliant. Otherwise the Senate would still be in Dem hands. He basically used 9-11 + Saddam fears (and boy did he exaggerate the danger of Saddam) to hoodwink the heartland and bring the ballots home. A saubversion of democracy extraordinaire. Well, what goes around comes around, so we'll see what happens between now and November 2004. Live by the lies die by the lies?
