Of course in some places they KILL people with an alternate vision :-) Thinking Northern Ireland, the IRA, the ME, etc. I think I'd rather be called anti- American, than killed. But that's simply my personal preference.

Other countries also have major political parties with genuinely different views across the ideological spectrum, not the homogenized fine-tuned poll-driven PAC-paid-for yo-yo's we have on the Hill and down Pennsylvania Avenue.

They may not be righteous (just like ours) but they offer competing views of politics, economics and social relations. The current US "opposition" party wouldn't say boo to a ghost about Iraq - the polls said they shouldn't.
