McCain and Kerry work together for vets, as a team. You can't separate the two. Kerry won more combat medals than Ollie North and deserves your respect. He's the real thing not some poseur like Bush. Kerry enjoys strong support from vets groups around the country and for good reason. He really cares about fighting men and women. He was wounded three times, killed enemy, led the charge and won the Silver Star and Bronze Star the old-fashioned way, by risking his life. That's more medals than any right-wing leader including Ollie North. Bush avoided the war and went AWOL. In fact he deserted for a whole year and still owes his country mandatory Army service. He never paid that debt. Kerry is an expert pilot and marksman. Bush poses as a pilot but that's a laugh. Bush has never flown an aircraft in his life except with an expert pilot handling the stick. Bush failed at jet training with a 30 score and also refused to take the mandatory drug test. Bush lied his head off to South Carolina vets about McCain in 2000 and vets remember. Expect McCain to support Kerry not Bush. Kerry has been attacked many times by the right for protesting the war, but has always fought back and won. Why? Because he was right, as the Pentagon Papers showed. That war was based on lies and there was no exit strategy or victory strategy. Thousands of lives were wasted. Kerry wanted to stop the killing. He lost five of his best friends in that war and was lucky to have survived it himself. Kerry has a group of vets he fought with who campaign for him and dispel the right-wing lies. If Bushies try to attack Kerry's military service they are in for a rude surprise. If you saw Kerry speak at the Citadel on Hardball you know he can win over even the most right-wing military types very quickly. He may not win a majority of military voters, but he will expose Bush's lies, mistakes, military cowardice and true agenda, and will wound Bush every time the subject comes up. It is a shameful thing that the GOP thinks it owns the military and military issues. In fact, it took Nancy Pelosi of all people to stop the Bushie cuts in veterans medical benefits, the firing of 90 VA doctors and 900 VA nurses which Bushies wanted to save money for the tax cuts for the rich and useless Star Wars programs.
