Hi Rose,

Just finished workin....gettin ready to head down to the boat...YEAH!

he must make your alarm go off all
the time.

Yup, Dusty has set off the alarm several times...........both Dustys.......one way or another, there always makin waves........<g>

i'm sure it will fly big time

Big time?? Nah, I'll be happy with 20 a month, though the sales guys are talkin 400/month. Sales guys are always doin that though. Pie in the sky stuff. It's kinda expensive IMO....a high end product...for folks with the big bucks. But I'm always reminded, that most folks with pools can afford it, and there are plenty who go all out on their pools. It does work better then the competitions.

But we can take care of some of that pricing, over time...if they get even near those quantities........like making it overseas.

Sheesh...can't believe I said that.....I hate when a customer does that, but what are ya gonna do? Ya have to compete.

I'm hoping for the day it actually saves some kid. Too many die in pools. Ya can't put a price on life. It will all be worth it then.

what a great idea! did someone at your firm come up with it?

Nope...my father did, over 30 years ago. After he passed away, over ten years ago, we (my bro and I) decided to try and build one. We gave my fathers notes to our engineer and said build it. He did. It worked, but we ran into a money stumbling block with UL approval. They wanted $50,000 just to come up with a test for pool alarms, and that wouldn't even mean it would pass the test.

We couldn't afford that then, so we shelved it.

Ten years later,(last fall) we took a look at the competition(there was none 10 years ago) and thought, hell, ours is still better.

So...back to Mr engineer and he did some updating and found out that we didn't need to worry about UL now, because all the components are UL approved.

Kewl, so we updated the technology(mostly changing it to surface mounted components)and here we are.

i bet she comes home with a
few horror stories too <g> makes me shudder to
think.

Oh yeah. Lots of em. <g>

WOW! What a sailing adventure. We always worry about hitting those crab pots, when we are in the ocean. Glad it turned out ok. What a great story.

Bon voyage!

:o)
