savannah river elba island lng transit rules, etc. this epa rule went into effect august 16, 2002 (if modified since then, i do not know). the actual rule and definitions starts near the bottom where you will see Part 165. also under Background and Purpose you may read some interesting stuff. one thing of interest is that the elba island lng facility has been struck twice in the past 20 years by passing ships. pretty extensive damage but the facility was not operational.

i am still looking for the .pdf with all the techno info on lng tankers and the precautions so they are safe.
