All this article says is that Israel has nukes. Where did the poison gas stuff come from?

Little doubt about Israel having chemical and biological weapons capability Nadine.

But the argument is a non-starter, IMO. Israel, so long as it remains a democracy, is no unprovoked threat to other countries in the region.

But non-democratic nations are an entirely different story. They have no accountability to their population. They can drag their people into terrible wars of aggression without must opposition. And they will use chemical weapons, as Saddam did in Iran, without regard for popular opinion.

WMDs in the hands of Arab states would be FAR LESS of an issue for me were their governments stable and accountable democracies.

Did you read the article?

"Israel is also believed to stock chemical and biological weapons, according to the Carnegie Endowment and the Monterey Institute of International Studies, which track such issues."

Israel has never admitted to having nuclear weapons either.
