Too bad the Bushies didn't think of this angle pre-invasion...must consider our soldiers' sensibilities...wouldn't want them sitting around with low morale when they could be out shooting things.

I think maybe you need to listen to yourself a bit closer...

Talk about some inane comments...

When an army mobilizes and deploys for action, it's training schedule hones that military team to its finest edge. There is no personnel turnover, no changes of command, and the shooting is generally live fire, not MILES "laser tag" or blanks... They get DEADLY SERIOUS and it's a status that can deteriorate very quickly when these troops are not permitted to conduct their mission in an expedient manner.

Why don't you try living in a "berm city" in a tent with sand flies and Shamal winds invading every orifice of your body.. I spent over 1/2 a year living in a tent in triple canopy jungle, fighting malaria carrying mosquitoes, jungle rot, and various poisonous wildlife that inhabits such a region. And I can tell you that I was EXTREMELY happy to finally return to "civilization" when my mission was over. And that was not even combat related.

And I can tell you that from my short duration periods spent in desert environments, there's no way I would want to spend 9 months in those kinds of conditions.
