They held back the largest cap in the S&P 500 for awhile, and now they seem to be "rebalancing" by hitting the broad sectors (housing, banks, oil&gas, technology) in the S&P 500. RSP (equal-weight S&P 500) has started to underperform the SPY (marketcap-weight S&P 500) with their quarterly rebalancing. more and more of the market is being thrust into mindless indexes.
