What good is a strong military buildup, if it appears other forces would not allow it to be used? Saddam no doubt saw the war protests as verification that Bush lacked sufficient political capital to actually make the attack unilaterally.

All that the "anti-war" protestors did was get a lot of Iraqi soldiers killed, a lot of "volunteers" to Saddam killed, and a lot of policemen, big screen TVs with their overtime money. And ruined some city budgets. Oh, and they got out of the house.

You are wrong. Clinton did not effect diplomacy. Clinton did not do what was needed in Iraq either.

This does not excuse Bush from wrong behavior too.
