Actually the price could go up quite a bit and it would still be in wide use. Alternatives will kick in of course at ever higher prices.

uh, yeah, something else. glad to know we have a clear Plan B. what it is, how much it will cost, to what extent will it be able to seamlessly interwork with our existing petroleum-dependent infrastructure, how this will all affect future economic growth rates on which neocapitalism depends, i guess these are just moot issues. after all, there's always "something else". good thing we don't need to worry...
