Each could have had their own Promised Land, and be fighting for it today. The blacks in America could all be longing for a promised land in the Sudan, Mexico could be fighting the Californians for their land, Brazil could decide its best to kill all the Mexicans, When some Nation or dictator sets out to kill or enslave half the world population things go terribly wrong- for them. regardless of the intent or reasons behind the action. Hitler and the Aryan Race to conquer the continent, The Spanish Conquests, the Crusaders. It seems mankind is built to survive and some event, some country or man will rise to the occasion and stop the most seemingly impossible forces that proceed in an evil direction. The worst Russia winter on record stopped Hitler. Radar saved Brittain The A-bomb and B-29's stopped Hirihito. The guided missile and stealth fighter stopped Saddam Economics stopped the cold war. As a retired engineer, I wish these countries would stop wasting resources on armament,which forces us to waste resources- and get on with scientific exploration, improvements in fuel efficiencies and SETI. We dont need any damn WMD's anywhere and its very important to do what we can to stop their spread. And those who try to produce them better have the best science in the world or the producers will be the first victims. Its possible that Saddam came to that conclusion and if so, he should have said that. By concentrating too much on the Israeli/ Palestinian problems we are missing great opportunities for real progress in other fields where events are taking place that will also affect world peace Even if they are not subjects for FADG Sig@morningrant.com . .
