Re: dollar in trouble?
That Roy Carson article should be read with some caution:
Message 19050346

Geez! Even Norway sell her own oil priced in Dollars.
Pricing and payments are two different things.
Norway is not interessed to be paid in Dollars.

Anyway, Dollar Reserve Currency system is 32 years old and will be replaced by another one. Bi metallic didn't work, gold reserve didn't work, Dollar doesn't work, next will work for a while. <ng>

let's see what quoting oil in € would mean

a) oil euros make CBO's eardrums pop
b) oil breaks 25$ iow € punches through 1.50$
c) other commodities follow suit - except coffee, which gets pegged to Real (Elmat wins;)
d) US helps democracy triumph in Iran
e) Shell buys Haliburton
f) China pegs on euro
g) California, under new Governor A. Schwarzenegger, floats €-denominated bonds. Prospect also in Styrian German
h) Saudis decide for golden dinar as the preferred mode of payment

...any more ideas? - think dirty
