Latif's Cavern links to an essay about the future of Saudi Arabia written by Mai Yamani, a Saudi social anthropologist and feminist. Very attractive woman, I might add.

She always was (she was in my class at Bryn Mawr). Mai Yamani has got an interesting POV as the daughter of the Oil Minister, Sheik Yamani. I believe that Sheik Yamani is the highest ranking Saudi who is not a prince of the blood. Interesting to hear her speak so dispassionately of a regime to which she is not unconnected.
