The Irish aren't killing each other over religion these days, it's about power. I think of the passage of time as acting like a ratchet that allows progress forward and resists progress backward. We don't live in caves anymore and we don't get our dinner via hunting and gathering. Slavery is on its way out, and eventually killing each other about religion will be unheard-of. As long as Sharia law says it's ok to kill nonbelievers, will there ever be peace under Islamic theocracy?
