Bush knows he needs to improve econ.. and get drug program through... unemployment may not be down a lot by next year but economy should be on the move up... He will be able to say he got the problem when he came into office and took care of it....
Democrats really need for something to blow up for Bush to get into trouble. econ. security, scandal.

I believe Bush needs to focus on improving the Economy, and then there is no contest.

His approval ratings on the economy have been in the 45%-50% range. If he can get this number up to the 55%-58% range, his re-election is all but assured (assuming no cataclysmic event that changes the landscape, literally or figuratively). I think that we will be seeing signs of a more robust recovery during the fourth quarter.
