I am always in favor of immigration. Northern Virginia is one of the most diverse places in the country. I think it's very ironic to hear Americans bitching about immigrants refusing to assimilate, when my Mennonite cousins still speak German and my Cajun cousins speak French at home.

Look at the percentage of foreigners in the Middle East. They come in spite of Saddam, the Sheikhs, and the Wahhabbis and their second class status. In spite of being kicked out of Kuwait during the Gulf war. And the liberal Europe has its share of immigrants now. According to a recent Economist magazine article, there are more foreign-born (as a percentage of population) in Sweden than US. Maybe economic opportunities is the primary reason for the immigration. > And they come in spite of the evil ashcroft and bush and are treated far better from we native americans than they get treated in Liberal Europe by supposed liberal europeans.>
