"Which doesn't mean that none of them are true"

This is superfluous comment as no-one here has argued otherwise.

"The variety of religions can all be right, however, about the fundamental question posed here: does God exist?"

And they can also all be wrong. Again, it is beside the point of what Karen had introduced to the thread. Believing in God or not believing in a God are both opinions. Generally, polite company accepts the expression of personal opinion without prejudice as a legitimate right of expression. However, when the opinion also expresses an insult (God likes me...not you), and when it is publicly voiced in defiance of a general respect for the honour a free country gives to religious belief--and the assumption of almost all religions that God loves everyone equally--then it is fair comment to gently denounce such thoughtlessness, hubris, and divisiveness.

It would seem to be a no-brainer, really. I mean, would you want a teacher telling the boys in her class that God loves and assists them more than the girls? Such a comment would be no less ignorant and destructive though based on the teacher's subjective certitude that she has been revealed Absolute Truth.

This foolish misdirection has gone on long enough. Stop it, already...
