The General Market did not respond well to the FED's 1/4 point cut.<g>

It seems the DOW may test support at the 8710 level and the NAZ at 1525

The BTK managed to close on the upside (up 6.11) but it hasn't broken the recent down trend that started on June 17 from the 844.92 level.

Here is a list of 20 Biotech stocks that managed to close at least 4% ahead for the day:

ADLR AKSY ARRY CPHD DGEN IEX.TO ILMN ILX0 INCY
LMNX MBI.TO MEDX MLNM PDGM PPCO RNAI SCLN VICL VRTX ZILA

DGEN had a trading volume of more than 15M and was up 71% with no news that I could find since they announced on June 16 the resignation of its interim CEO and interim CFO and announced further developments that may affect its $5M bridge loan and its previously announced private placement, with questions about possible filing for chapter 11.<g>

And here is alist of 20 Biotech stocks that closed down at least 4% for the day:

ANIK ASTM CYPB CYTO DCGN DYAX GENR GNVC HEB IMGN INGN INSM ISIS NPRO PBP.TO SPEX TBIO TGEN VASC VPHM

CYTO closed down more than 14% in spite of the News on PROSTACINT.<g>

What is they say about overconfidence? Picked up INGN yesterday and thought I was pretty smart...until today.

I seem much better at explaining strength or weakness after the fact than predicting it in advance. I should've let this one go when it broke the 5.75 level this morning and walked away for a bit.

My only consolation is relatively low vol on the pullback, but then this isn't always as helpful an indicator as we'd like it to be when holding a stock ;-)

Always keep up on your comments on this thread. I'm learning a lot (notwithstanding sometimes stupid decisions I still make).

Cheers
