Euro Hits Five-week Lows

The chief of German BGA export association said global geopolitical uncertainties posed a bigger challenge to German growth than the euro's exchange rate. He forecasted that euro/dollar could rise to $1.25-1.27 within the next year while revising 2003 growth projections to unchanged from the previous estimate of 0.4%.

Germany Economy Minister Wolfgang Clement commented that the slight drop in the euro's exchange rate should be positive for Eurozone exports.
