Question: If there was no zionist movement and no israel today do you think Jews in arab countries would have fared any better than they have? After all Basra was 40% jewish i recently heard and Bagdad had a substantial jewish population as well. Well, they might not have been expelled, if that's what you mean by 'better'. But as minority populations in countries that have been doing so poorly, and where intolerant fundamentalism is so common, they wouldn't have been doing well either. Ask the Maronites, Assyrian Christians or the Kurds how well they've been doing.
