Wow! I've been out of town on vacation for the last two weeks...so I haven't kept up with California news.

IMO the possible recall of Governor Davis is going to be an interesting political battle.

Davis backed off of that, then appeared to back off of his back off. It was pretty hard to tell what was happening because the statements were so nuanced and mealy-mouthed that when you boiled them down there seemed to be nothing left.

You really could get the impression he wants to get recalled, though. And to give the job to a Republican, since he has worked so hard to keep any other Democrat from putting his name on the ballot.

Probably should move this to the rant thread if it goes any further.
