Jim, Been there on the high tech side...good news (like you) I was able to get unemployment...$368/week....paid one of my bills but it was appreciated....I wish you well...perhaps you and I can write that expose book now....

The first few layoffs are the hardest. Do not fall into the trap where you think you can't do anything but wait by the phone, it's depressing. Get your resume on Monster.com and mail it to anyone you worked with and ask them to forward it. Get an answering machine. Then remember, if you have plenty of time you don't need as much money and do some interesting things during the day and check messages and email at night. TP
