either way you cant "SELL" my likeness without my permission..just like you cant " STEAL" music from the radio and " RE-sell " it on the net..ie...MPPP,,,regardless of how famous and public the artist is or the dead guy..ie..( beetles)

Does that clarify things a bit? If not than Im sorry

Here're a few questions:

We agree that Tony is a public figure within the legal definition of the term.

But that does NOT mean that public figures can't sue for libel. Yes, the bar is higher, and malice must be proved.

I'm depicted in two of Dobry's pix. The context might lead others to believe that I'm involved in money laundering and the Southeast Asia drug trade. Of course I'm not, and that can easily be shown. Sooo...we've got malice.

I think Tony has a shot at it. In addition, Dobry's posted reams of defamatory stuff about him. These paintings aren't like editorial cartoons; they're not meant as satire. Dobry thinks all of his innuendo is true, merely because it's what he wants to believe.

And no, I'm not happy about his "portraits" of me, either. All of his victims can, though, take some comfort in the fact that he's not very good at recognizable likenesses.

hmmm, I seem to have lost track of what the questions were, but never mind...
