Thanks,... that's really an interesting fact about the value change in the japanese market - from double its share of the world economy to the half. Of course it needs some further investigation whether apples are compared to apples (as to how market values of a country are defined). I remember a similar discussion with US stock markets some time ago when the ratio of market cap:GDP crossed the 100% mark.

The strong earnings growth numbers of the Japanese 1000 baffles me. That said I have too little info how deep the structural problems go which put equity at risk.

Recently I did have success with one japanese company but this was a special situation.
