PMC-Sierra buckles after US Bancorp downgrade (PMCS) By Julie Rannazzisi
Communications chip firm PMC-Sierra (PMCS) tumbled 9.2 percent to $10.99 after US Bancorp Piper Jaffray downgraded the stock to an "underperform" rating from a "market perform" on belief the seasonal summer slowdown for telecom could push out break-even results at the company until December. Additionally, USB feels that PMC-Sierra's revenue mixed is skewed away from the higher-margin service provider segment in favor of the lower-margin microprocessor and enterprise-storage segments.
