The good sense of the American people is not manifested in their intimate knowledge of policy matters, but in their inclination to trust the current administration, based on their impression of the principals, the performance of the "team" to this point, and the intrinsic logic of the situation, which expects at least some deference to the those in responsible positions, to let them do their jobs........

Two things John. Who is the target responder for the poll, and what level of education to these people have? If ANY of the responders were paying *any attention* to *any* news, they would know their statement wouldn't be true if they said yes to this question below.

24% said that Iraq used "biological or chemical weapons against US troops"

Some several posters on this thread made the ritualistic obesiance to the "good sense" of the American public. One wonders what that might be based on, given this paragraph in the recent article on the poll.

As one of those posters, I'm standing behind my belief in the collective wisdom of the people. Trouble is, we are a trusting nation, eager to believe in our leaders. Many folks are laboring under false impressions at the moment, wrought by a dishonest administration and its media megaphone. Once it becomes common knowledge that we were mislead, you'll see that great common sense assert itself.
