Interesting isn't it. We booked A room at Seattle's Alexis Hotel using Expedia as leverage. They upgraded us for free as opposed to booking through Expedia. Apparently hotels would prefer not to pay Expedia.

Many of the airlines and hotels provide better deals on their own sites and folks are catching on.

EXPE may test my patience, but so be it. Besides which, this early summer is providing good results (UALAG, Air Can't, CLS, MU, etc.), so there are no complaints during the wait. (g)
