Hi Patron, <<I thought the war was over?!>> The war is over. This is the 'non-war' or 'dis-war'.

I believe the officialdom story is that all subsequent carnage since announcement of war's end is caused by a dozen or so true-believers who did not listen to the speech on radio, and is instigated by one on-the-run guy and his two sons, who are cruising around on the desert flats with truckloads of cash and gold.

If so, these folks certainly get around, here one day and there the next, necessitating a few hundred thousand troops to stick around watching the oil not flowing through pipes that are messed with.

Given the unlikely migration (due to environment) of the unconventional war from phase I (hit and run) to phase II (company scaled set piece battles), the new 'non-war' may turn out to be the longest attrition-of-the-will, making whatever oil coming out of Iraq very expensive oil.

Chugs, Jay
