A not so good line - DOOOHHHH!!

How will he win support of Democratic Party leaders, given his frequent criticism of them, a reporter asked Dean at a small morning news conference.

Not a problem, Dean responded. They'll come around once they get to know me.

"It is a bit of a club down there," he continued. "The Democratic Party, all the candidates from Washington, they all know each other, they all move in the same circles, and what I'm doing is breaking into the country club."

Jaws dropped.

Dean's 17-year-old son, Paul, was cited last week for aiding a break-in at the Burlington Country Club. Paul Dean allegedly drove the car while three friends broke into an outbuilding to steal beer.

Dean then asked a press aide: "Why do I say these things?"

AL's A SHARP ONE:

Charleymane,

Maybe we need to start a contest. We're all aware that GWB is a writhing fool when it comes to any unscripted moment in the English language. (It's his second language, graft being the first.) Mark Crispin Miller is making a good living on his book the "Bush Dyslexicon", and is doing just as well with his one man play on Bushisms that is selling out to enthusiastic crowds.

We need to compare Bush's smelly barnyard Bushit with Sharpton's Straight Talk Underlying Democracy -- STUD(TM).

Here's an example. Bush is all in favor of ending democracy and all that jazz. One way to do that is with a repressive Department of In-Justice run by a theocratic fascist named Saint John Trashcroft. He, in turn, runs an agency (into the mud) called the FBI, or as I like to call it these days, the F.I.B.

Sharpton's line regarding this besmirched and corrupted agency?

"We don't just need a new director; we need a new direction."

See? Succinct, smart and savvy. Unlike the Crawford Cowboy's creepy crassness and tautological terrorism twitterings.

********
Yup, pardner, we need a new direction.
