Any did someone put a gun to your head to place trades?

Hey Dave, excellent question. If someone walks across the street and a madcap driver blows a red light, running them over, did anyone put a gun to their head to cross the street? Maybe they just deserved it! I mean, you walk across the street, with all the cars around, what do you expect, really? That's the risk you take, isn't it, crossing the street, trying to get a better view of life and the Empire State Building? That is just too bad for you in the concrete jungle, isn't it? Maybe you should just "move on" - that is, if you can still walk after what happened to you.

Put it another way: gambling. No one forces that on anyone, but most people would rightly go nuts if every casino was rigged with magnets in the roulette wheel and marked cards only the dealer knew the code. Or is that just too bad, that's what you get for walking into a casino and gambling?

And yet here we're talking about the stock market, NASD members and you excuse rigging the game? You must be joking...This garbage continues and the short-sighted greedy brokers who pull these stunts will have it on their heads when the world's investment capital steers away from the US. These kinds of practices belong in a banana republic, not here.

As they say in the practice of law, your argument is both inapposite and not material. Fortunately, there are still laws in this country against the kinds of predatory practices described in the Complaint.

You can agree or disagree with those laws, as is your right. If you disagree, as it seems you do, then maybe you'll canvas for a new legislature at the state and federal level. Maybe you'll succeed in returning us to the law of the jungle. Then again, as we live in a democracy, I suspect there are many millions of citizens out there who would not agree with you.

That does not excuse "the rigging of the game" as is alleged.
