I have a theory that if you draw concentric circles around the Middle East, the further away you go, the saner the people are.

Particularly the people in Israel/Palestine, who remind me of two scorpions in a bottle. No, make that a jar, which actually has the lid off. One or both could walk away, but they both want to live in the same jar.

Also a very nasty divorce, such as the one depicted in The War of the Roses where they were willing to fight to the death over things like who got the house.

They both keep acting like it's an existential struggle, when it's really just a power struggle over the same assets.

In a democracy, as Marcos points out, demographics have a way of changing the power structure. Eventually the Arabs in Israel will outnumber the Jews, anyway. And then what?
