Marcos, my problem is when one gang of people seems to be setting themselves up as superior to others on flimsy foundations. It's the eons-old road to ruin as one gang comes to think of themselves as superior and therefore has the right to dominate and conquer and confiscate other people and their property.

Well, more accurately, it's now the road to ruin. It was, in the past, the road to riches, power, reproduction and success. I believe that time has passed for much of the world, though it still applies in some places, more's the pity.

If the civilized world would gang up on the others [which seems paradoxical] we could force them to adopt civilized ways [by usurping the likes of Saddam who are forcing uncivilized ways on those they control].

Everyone is proud these days, but so many pridesters are barely out of nappies and have achieved nothing themselves. Americans are breast-beating and ranting yet half of them have not a clue what the heck is going on, where Iraq is, or much else beyond their local 711 [which some of them would confuse with 911].

I'm sick of proud people. Those who have really achieved something impressive are usually somewhat modest about their achievements, though suffused with the glow of achievement; more pleasure and fun than pride. It's the half-baked vicarious pridesters who are most boastful, sponging off the glories of somebody else with whom they think they are associated.

Please feel free to type through the night,
Mqurice
