I hope you got to Cicero, if not you missed half the action.

I used to own 1/2 of a duck hunting club next to the small river burg of Bath, Illinois. Back during the prohibition/depression days a lot of the Chicago mob hunted there. Gambling, whores, booze and hunting were the attractions. There's a tavern called the Brick in Bath that had a safe for the mob guy's money when they'd come down for a weekend. Most of the mob guys would drop $1,000 during a weekend, $10 a week was a good job then.

The mob guys would shoot and buy so many ducks and ship them back to Chicago a rail spur was built to pick up the shipping cars. Our current politicians could take a clue on good will off those guys. The river people lived well off that money and most of the ducks were given to the people in the mob neighborhoods. Imagine living on beans all year and up shows Capone or one of his guys handing you a pair of oven ready ducks each holiday.
