"In a recent CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll, 50 percent said they would vote for Bush and 38 percent backed the unknown Democratic candidate, with the rest undecided."

So republicans still have a commanding lead...

And remember, Bush still doesn't have a competitor. If he cant get more than 42% against an unnamed democrat now a month after his victory lap on the air-craft carrier, Bush is in deep trouble, because assuming dems nominate war hero Kerry with a southern moderate running mate (Graham?), they are going to get a big bounce, and remind people we WERE better off four years ago. No question about it.

Looks like Bush may even live to regret the air-craft carrier photo op. The war and combat over? Not by a longshot. In fact post-war is turning out to be a lot more deadly for us than the invasion itself. That was the "easy" part.
