1) QCOM stock buyback via put sells;
2) play the stock/bond market;
3) dividend increase;
4) QSI;
5) QCOM stock buyback via direct buy;
6) technology and/or product acquisition;
7) other?
8) do nothing, be like CSCO or MSFT with hoardes of cash

Numbers 1 and 2 have absolutely nothing do with Q's core competencies. Give the cash back to the shareholders and let them decide if they want to sell puts or buy bonds.

No problem with 3.

I dont generally have a problem with 4 (QSI), but Qualcomm hasnt shown much talent in finding decent investments. They have pretty much admitted that QSI needs to be substantially reduced....CDMA has already been seeded around the world.

No problem with 5 or 6.

I not a big fan of huge amounts of cash remaining with management. A rainy day fund is one thing but $50 billion in cash is just too much of a temptation to throw into bad investments. Look at MSFT's $5 billion investment into AT&T....or Docomo's $10 billion investment into AWE.
