In those days there were many who confused socialism and bolshevism, particulary those who wrote for the Atlantic. A bit of bias and stereotyping indicative of the times i am afraid. He was quite accurate on a mideast war bring europe and even america into it. Shit happened and one side looks at it one way and the other side sees it differently. OK thats cool. Whats not is to take this so-callled colonialism and single out the israeli for criticism for all the horrible things that went on. Israel may have been the last acceptable colonialism but it is not reversable so lets make a deal. Who to deal with? mike

It is true that many of the early Communists and Socialists were Jews.

That doesn't mean that all Communists and Socialists were Jews, or that all Jews were Communists and Socialists.
