Oracle ready to take J.D. Edwards too

Oracle said on Wednesday it would buy both PeopleSoft and
J.D. Edwards if that's what's needed to make its hostile
buyout offer work. Chuck Phillips, Oracle executive vice president, said the software maker would prefer buying PeopleSoft alone, however, it was willing to proceed with its hostile offer even if PeopleSoft is successful with its acquisition of J.D. Edwards. Phillips, who spoke at Oracle's AppsWorld conference in London, said Oracle expects to lose about 30 percent of PeopleSoft customers to competitor SAP, if its hostile buyout offer goes through.
