Lilly CEO: Still Sees FDA Cialis Approval In 2nd Half 2003

Thursday June 26, 2:04 pm ET

Taurel reiterated that Lilly still expects the FDA to approve its much anticipated erectile
dysfunction drug Cialis in the second half of the year.

"We stand by that basic statement, but have no guarantee that it won't slip into next
year," he said.

The drug is already available in Europe and competes against Pfizer Inc.'s Viagra and
another new drug also awaiting FDA approval, called Levitra, which is sold by Bayer AG
and GlaxoSmithKline PLC .
