Lake Louise up to Jasper, in Alberta?

Still on my "to do" list is to explore Western Canada. Surprisingly, I have more experience with Eastern Canada. I think of Algonquin park, north of Toronto, and I can still hear the loons. Talk about the effects of glaciations. That park resides on scraped Canadian Shield bedrock. All of the ancient grooves scraped into the bedrock are now filled with water. The result is (usually shallow) narrow lakes that are 10 to 25 miles long – perfect for canoes. Since the grooves are roughly parallel to each other, and not that far apart, it’s possible, with a few minimal portages, to quickly get 100 miles from anywhere – sorta backpacking lite. Just avoid the black fly and mosquito seasons.
