I didn't see the drive through zoo when I was there. Was it in Porlamar? Did you also drop by Los Roques during your travels? If you did, then Libby might be interested in what you have to say, since she won those islands several weeks back.

That was my first visit to a third world country, and strange it was. Taxis that are nothing more than metal frames on wheels. When one person in our party had a US re-entry permit instead of a passport the customs officials didn't know what to do, in spite of the fact that we had clear written instructions/permission from a Venezuelan official. A hotel that didn't have hot water one day, and didn't have cold water the next, that lost reservations, that figured that two single beds scooted together were equivalent to a queen size bed... and much more.
