physicist friend of mine says five years

well, a physicist friend of mine says never. forecasts are all over the map but the one thing that is reality is many decades of research with no practical, commercially viable cigar in the real world. i believe controlled fusion will always be the energy of the future at least in our lifetimes. and methane hydrates will be the energy of the future forever. i give turkey guts better odds.

meanwhile, in the real world, the US government is in the process of spending hundreds of billions of dollars to secure the energy of today in the middle east. remember the old saying: "follow the money..."
