Rumsfeld is an American treasure. Sometimes he's like a zen cipher, his press briefings are one of the few things worth watching on teevee. He once told a reporter his question didn't comport with the 'fact pattern'.

I'm glad that guy put that book together, I will look for it...

Well, I hadn't intended to, but I bought a copy of the Existential Poetry of Donald Rumsfeld this morning. I was just going to flip through it there at the store, (as a former liberal, I have no problem with freeloading in certain situations) but it's so good I figured it was worth having around the house.

Some of the quotes are better appreciated if you know what was said just prior, and the mood of the give and take. The author should have provided some context, like if everyone in the room was laughing or not. Sometimes those press briefings tend toward jocularity, and his comments aren't meant seriously.
