No. If you wish to argue that case, as a political issue, it should be protected. Certainly, should be. But if you just wish to go around calling people names, that should not be protected speech. I don't think it's particularly good policy to punish folk for it. I prefer shaming them. Publicly. Try to change the culture so folk who publicly express such views are seen as the kooks they are. And make certain any actions they take to discriminate against gays and lesbians are punished.
