Are you saying oil companies don't do research estimating the world supply of oil?

if you go back on the thread, you will see the context originated from your statement that there "is a huge vested interest in perpetuating the myth that oil is scarce", so the research in question is research about peak oil. and the answer is, no, oil companies do not do research touting the end of oil.

There is nothing preconcieved about saying that oil supply is far higher than most say it is and the price is destined to stay low....in fact its quite the opposite of the preconceived popular view

actually, it is the conventional view touted widely by the likes of Kudlow. are you sure you don't watch a lot of CNBC?

Most of the world is still suffering under Hubbert's view that additional supply is only available at higher prices

it seems you do not understand what "Hubbert's view" is.
