Just realised that the guy i know best in Departure Bay has a considerable amount of indian blood, half maybe or more, and i expect from the same tribe who 'departed' that spring .... his kids are even more indian, given who he married ... and they're quite thoroughly canadian, one quality does not take from the other So that's the way it went here .... everybody got a 'right of return' pretty much, of course we had less whacko religions competing for the ground, that did help .... and locals never attempted to be quite so exclusionist, nor did any 'side' that developed choose violence as its first option in dispute resolution .... it's not perfect of course, we do have lawyers, who extract another sort of blood, but they spend it locally too, so it all goes round in our circle of life .... all in all, we prefer this to the circle of death
