Tom, The way I see it, the Isra'Elis have a guilty conscience and fear that they will receive retaliation for what they have done for the past 55 years in Palestine. But they are in a precarious situation, they can either ethnically cleanse the remaining Palestinians out of the West Bank, Gaza, AND Isra'El, commit a genocide, or make peace. Since many of the Isra'Elis have been carrying a grudge since 70 CE, they fear the Palestinians would do the same to them. In a sense, the Israe'Elis, and too many Jews, are a victim of their own seething bitterness and intolerance. Speaking of Hamas: Any word on who is financing the shtetlments and paying for the armaments above and beyond what the American taxpayer doles out? Must be a news blackout on that subject. len
