So it's o.k. to blockade a country, lob hundreds of cruise missiles, and starve a million civilians to death over documents and equipment. But its not o.k. to go to war, and kill less 4,000 for the EXACT SAME REASON?

I don't give a damm what Blix says Iraq might have done. He's supposed to know exactly what Iraq has done. That was his job. Iraq was supposed to provide him with all the documentation regarding their chemical and biological weapons programs (and it's ending), and he was supposed to verify that the documentation the Iraqis provided was complete and correct.

Mothballing and hiding components to manufacture nuclear bombs is not the same as ending the program. It is merely suspending it such that the program can be reactivated at a point, very close to where researchers had left off. And Iraq was very close to developing a nuclear weapon, when they "were caught" and "ended" the program. WMD Arms agreements REQUIRE VERIFICATION - especially with Iraq, since they have already admitted trying to deceive inspectors.

If the United States had proof that Iraq had nuclear weapons, it would have been too late.
