counterfeiting As opposed to criminals counterfeiting, printing money and then going and spending it, our banks and governments do account for each note issued as loans and keep a balance of the debt. So it's a little different. -g- The word "counterfeiting" does come up on discussions of money though. Leaving aside some of the more nutball web sites.. Bastiat therefore begins his dialogue by labeling fractional reserve banking practices as a fraud on the general public. mises.org and of course, the stalwart of real money.. In fact, counterfeiting can create in its very victims the blissful illusion of unparalleled prosperity. mises.org so OK, these guys are all wrong.. we have no inflation.
