Quite honestly, I don't know enough about the long-term contracts to give you an opinion. Are the terms consistent with those contracts signed by other parties at the time? I'll see if I can dig something up and get back to you.

Common sense would seem to suggest that the heat and confusion of the moment may have resulted in some panic purchasing on the part of the buyers.
