"A highly damaging allegation was made that went right to the heart of the integrity of the government on a very important issue," Blair's spokesman said on Thursday.

What a silly thing to say. Alastair Campbell is guilty on all allegations made imho, and that twerp should be one of the first guys booted. It's not as if any of the facts can be disputed, they are in the public realm. Yes a B/S report on Iraq WMD was written and is completely wrong. Yes, a ten year old report was copied off the internet as it's basis. Yes, some of the words were changed to make it sound more threatening. Jeez, what a loser argument the government is on.

Now if HMG wanted to give the BBC a good kicking on inaccuracy in news, they could have asked even me. I could have given them at least one instance where the BBC would not have stood a chance..
